Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 15 April 2026
1. Our Commitment
Stax's Burger is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of ability, disability, or the assistive technology they use.
We want our website to be accessible to people who are blind or have low vision, deaf or hard of hearing, have motor disabilities, have cognitive disabilities, or who use assistive technology such as screen readers.
We are working to make our website conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, as required by the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018.
2. Conformance Status
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
We are actively working to reach full Level AA conformance. Our target is to achieve full conformance by end of 2026.
3. Accessibility Features
We have implemented the following accessibility features on our website:
- Keyboard navigation: All core functions (browsing the menu, adding to cart, checkout) are fully operable via keyboard without a mouse.
- Focus indicators: Clear visual focus indicators are provided on all interactive elements.
- Semantic HTML: We use proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and semantic elements throughout.
- ARIA labels: Buttons and interactive components without visible text labels include appropriate ARIA attributes.
- Colour contrast: Text and interactive elements meet the minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio requirement.
- Screen reader compatibility: The site has been tested with VoiceOver (macOS/iOS) and NVDA (Windows).
- Responsive design: Content is accessible at all screen sizes and zoom levels up to 400%.
- Skip navigation: A skip-to-content link is available for keyboard users.
- Form labels: All form inputs have associated labels and error messages.
- Allergen information: Full allergen details are available in text format, not just icons.
4. Known Issues
We are aware of the following accessibility limitations that we are working to resolve:
- Product modal: The product customisation modal may not announce all live region updates correctly in all screen readers. We are working on a fix.
- Allergen matrix table: The full allergen matrix is a wide table that may be difficult to navigate on small screens with a screen reader. We are developing an alternative list-based format.
- Stripe payment form: The embedded Stripe payment element is a third-party component and may have accessibility limitations we cannot fully control. We work within Stripe's provided APIs and report issues to Stripe.
We plan to resolve these issues as part of our ongoing development work.
5. Feedback & Contact
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you experience any barriers, please let us know:
- Email: hello@staxhouse.co.uk
- Contact form: staxhouse.co.uk/contact
We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days. Where a particular function is inaccessible to you, we will endeavour to provide the information or complete the function for you in an alternative format.
6. Enforcement Procedure
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the ‘accessibility regulations’) in England, Scotland and Wales.
